Michael Politi DO FASRS

Dr. Politi is dedicated to providing the highest quality, retinal, and comprehensive

ophthalmologic care, as well as state-of-the-art cosmetic services to his patients. He is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist and is a fellowship-trained retina specialist. In addition to providing routine ophthalmologic care to his patients, including routine eye exams, dry eyes, glaucoma, cataract evaluations, and other conditions affecting the eyes, as a retina specialist he also treats many conditions ranging from age-related macular degeneration, retinal tears, detachment, holes, uveitis, as well as children and adults with hereditary diseases of the eye. Utilizing the latest, state-of-the-art technology, Dr. Politi can perform many procedures in-office, including intravitreal injections and laser surgery for treatment of macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy. Dr. Politi also has a passion for aesthetics and specializes in Neuromodulators (Botox, Dysport, Xeomin), Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) injections, filler, cosmetic lasers, and the latest non-surgical blepharoplasty techniques including the subnovii.

Dr. Politi is affiliated with St. Francis Hospital in Roslyn, New York. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Retina Specialists, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the American Medical Association, the American Osteopathic Association, the International Society of Refractive Surgery, and the American Society of Ophthalmologic Administrators. Dr. Politi also serves as a New York State Trooper Surgeon and is an Associate Professor at Touro University School of Health Sciences. As an established ophthalmologist and retina specialist, for the past several years Dr. Politi has worked in a private practice in Nassau County. Previously, he was an associate at the Brooklyn Eye Center, where he completed his Fellowship training in Diseases of the Retina and Vitreous. Dr. Politi completed his Ophthalmology Residency training in Brooklyn where he served as Chief Resident. He is an alumnus of the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine. Being a native long islander having grown up in Bellmore he regularly volunteered his time in the community with local organizations; where he served as an EMT-Critical Care and a

volunteer firefighter. In addition to volunteering his time in his community, before becoming a physician he worked as an EMT in the FDNY NYC 911 EMS system. 

Dr. Politi currently resides in Roslyn with his wife and son. His interests outside of work include art, playing sports, hiking, skiing, boating, and other outdoor activities. He enjoys cooking, golf, travel, and spending quality time with his family and friends. He is fluent in English and speaks conversational Spanish. Dr. Politi’s goal is to provide the finest, high-quality retinal and comprehensive ophthalmologic care to his patients in a welcoming environment. He believes it is crucial that patients have an understanding of their eye conditions and be partners in their eye health.
