As a board-certified ophthalmologist in Roslyn Heights, Nassau County, I offer advanced dry eye diagnosis and customized dry eye treatments, focusing on conditions like meibomian gland dysfunction for residents of the North Shore of Long Island.

Dry Eye Treatment

Dry eye disease is a common yet frequently under-diagnosed condition that arises when the eyes fail to produce enough quality tears or when tears evaporate too quickly. Symptoms of dry eye may include burning sensations, irritation, redness, fluctuating vision, excessive tearing, and eye fatigue — particularly during prolonged screen use, while wearing contact lenses, or as a result of aging.

At Politi Eyecare & Aesthetics, we recognize dry eye as a medical condition that requires individualized attention, rather than a one-size-fits-all solution. Each patient undergoes a thorough dry eye diagnosis to determine the underlying cause, such as meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD), inflammation, hormonal changes, the effects of medication, or various environmental factors.

We provide customized dry eye treatments that are physician-directed, which may include:

- Prescription and medical-grade lubricating therapies

- Anti-inflammatory eye drops and specialized medications

- Advanced diagnostic testing and imaging

- In-office procedures aimed at enhancing tear quality and improve gland function

- IPL-based therapy for inflammation and meibomian gland dysfunction, when applicable

Our aim is to restore long-term comfort, protect the ocular surface, and enhance visual quality, rather than merely masking symptoms temporarily. Treatment plans are specifically tailored according to the severity of the condition, individual lifestyle, and responses to therapy.
